I would suggest Alien and Aliens, but you obviously have watched these (are you wondering how I know this [hot userpic, BTW] :D), otherwise Star Trek (2009), Terminator, The Original Star Wars trilogy, Avatar, and Lord of the Rings.
I personally prefer movies that explore some universal human theme; guns and metal for the sake of guns and metal is pointless.
